Ok - this will never really make as good a cup as a Saeco super automatic but,, for a $500 savings I can certainly live with it.
When the Senseo eventually dies, I can just go to the thrift store and get another one for $10...
We also own a Bialetti Brikka pot for later in the day when I want a (really, really) good cup with "Crema". Check the reviews here on Amazon.
PROS:
1. If you are reasonably careful filling your Duck, no leaks or spills will occur.
2. Play around with different amount of coffee/cup size setting combos, and you can get a pretty good flavor to suit your style.
3. Hit the switch and enjoy the savings....

We bought the CoffeeDuck filter when our local stores stopped selling the coffee pods that fit into the Senseo coffee makers and it was getting too expensive to purchase pods on-line. The CoffeeDuck filter is the perfect solution, it's easy to use, just fill the filter cup with ground coffee and put on the lid. As long as you keep the edge of the filter cup free of coffee grounds, the coffee comes out perfect. Clean up is easy, just toss the grounds and clean the filter. We put our used coffee grounds in the garden.

I find the coffee duck to do its job, but if you don't make sure there are no grinds on the edge it will leak. I also found getting the right grind can be difficult too, not fine enough weak coffee, too fine and it clogs and can't make coffee. So what to do, look for other solutions, that's what I did.
I just tried this method for the first time this morning and found it works just like the pods you buy. Basically you get a coffee filter and the original 1 or 2 pod holder your machine came with. put 1 heaping tablespoon for the 1 pod holder and 2 heaping tablespoons for the 2 pod holder. I put the filter with the coffee in it in the holder, twist the top of the filter and flatten it down inside of the holder, cut off extra filter and you have your own home made pods that even make foam like the ones you buy. I love this method and I hope others find this method useful.
So if you want an authentic after market experiance use the filters, they come closest to the pods in the way your machine will work and the way the coffee tastes.
